Felt like they took advantage of me

Posted by martinigirl2 on 10/27/2008

I was new to town and took my dog there on the recommendation from another website. He has chronic allergies and needed refills for his medicines. The place was in a bad section of town, but looked to be a no-nonsense type of place. What a mistake! I was taken to a smelly exam room without any chairs and made to wait for almost an hour while they took my dog in and out of the room. When they returned him from an ear flushing, they told me they had 'gone ahead and given him an allergy shot'. I did not give permission for that treatment, it cost $42 I later discovered, and consisted mostly of prednisone, something my dog is not supposed to have. They tried to load me up with every conceivable antibiotic, anti-histamine, and dietary supplement on hand. I will not go back to that place. If I am going to spend $300 on a vet visit, I should at least have a chair to sit on!
